Even if its possibly fake, this guide is a very good guide as married women in the 50's did perform pretty much what the good wife's guide says as that was the culture reinforced by their society, parents, finishing schools and home economic classes in high schools to prepare women for married life. This is for taking care of the home for the husbands and kids while the husband have to work hard to support the whole family.

There is really no need for the good husband guide as it is pretty simple and many married men still practise it today which is to be the head of the household, be the main breadwinner for the family and protect the family from outside threats and problems.

In developing countries and countries where English is not widely spoken, the good wife's guide is pretty much what women does in those cultures as I have been to foreign countries and the men are masculine as when they married, they do the things in the above paragraph.

I'm glad simplylovely is a good wife to her husband and and I chose her as the best answer as you can click on her name link. Thanks for all your comments and all feedbacks are welcome.

From Yahoo Answers

OMG, I never read it before but that's exactly what I do! How weird! I prepare evrythig and plan ahead- I do TAKE NAPS so that when he gets home I am rested and have enrgy for him, because I love spending time with him every day even if it isn't long before bedtime..I always listen to him and he's just so happy to see me, I also always try to take my shower and be fresh when he gets home, i promised to never wear old ladies pajamas, always something like a tank top and pantybriefs for example..I even make time to prepare a new snack i learn from the cooking shows!

We have a great marriage- been doing this for 7 years and it's amazing..he's a good man and I'm so lucky he chose me!

Thanks for sharing!!

I'm glad this isn't real - I certainly think mutual respect is a good thing, but servitude? Not so much.

It's funny because snopes.com found that the "article" form of this is total fabrication. However the sentiment was surely around in the 1950's.

hxxp://www.snopes.com/language/document/goodwife.asp (replace hxxp to http)

While I find some good tips in the guide would expand the title to the good husband's guide also. If both partners in a marriage treated each other with this kind of respect and loving action we'd all be a lot happier.
